So, what to do you do when you have just driven for hours through (perhaps a better term in Africa, than over) roads that are wheel-well-deep red mud, and you are required to bring a sparkling clean, white vehicle back to Africa Mercy? (Or wash it yourself on dock) Why, you take advantage of the next river where dozens of kids are bound to be playing, but also just waiting for a chance to exercise their “valet detailing services,” complete with that muddy red river water, hand dipped in any vessel that will hold water, and chamoised with the shirts off their backs. You stop, as they clamor for your attention, hands slapping against your windows, shouting “we wash your car, we wash your car!” And the photos tell the rest of the story! Cost? $1 US. And worth much more just watching the fun they were all having doing a great job washing the car, but also soaking each other!

Linda,
I was driving down Overland and thought about getting a carwash. I didn't stop. I will be looking for a muddy river and a group of kids to wash my Focus!
Hi, Incredible what you can find for entertainment there. Love it.
Love Grandma Jan
